Overt Behaviour Scale (OBS)

This scale is designed to clarify the types of observable challenging behaviours that can occur following acquired brain injury (ABI).

There are 9 categories of behaviour that can be scored on this scale; they are:

Verbal aggression

Physical aggression against objects

Physical acts against self

Physical aggression against other people

Inappropriate sexual behaviour

Perseveration / repetitive behaviour

Wandering / absconding

Inappropriate social behaviour

Lack of initiation
